Dead One…the next Lady Gaga?

I must admit it took me a minute but now I’m digging the new re-mix from Donald “XL” Robertson and Dead One called “Throw Ya Hands Up“. It has a nice club beat and it keeps me on my toes. I must also admit I was happy to see the DEAD ONE mocking a genre that has gotten a little weird lately.
I spoke with Dead One via phone and got these thoughts from him, “I think the two songs that did it for me where Poker Face by Lady Gaga and Stanky Legg Dance. The radio played them over and over. I mean the Beatles must be angry to think their records could be shattered by a song called Stanky Legg. Don’t get me wrong I think Lady Gaga is hot and she can sing but she was going for the easy win with that song. So I sat down and wrote the weirdest lyrics I could think of for my dance song. When I picked up my pen I thought ‘this is awful…I got to lay this track down asap’. I thought back to Dave Chappell saying that his skits that became the most popular were the ones he was most afraid to put out. I think “Throw Ya Hands Up” fits that catagory for me. Plus who wants a southern badass like me writing dance songs? Well you got one anyway so taste the fist if you got a problem with it.”
It’s good to have the Dead One back and stirring things up. I just wonder if he’ll get an eye patch like Lady Gaga? Probably not.
